【Product Description】

Each piece is handcrafted using traditional Kutani ware techniques, with the hope of adding a touch of elegance to those precious, relaxing moments when enjoying sake or tea. This vessel can be used as a guinomi, ochoko, or tea cup.
It is adorned with peonies, culturally considered very auspicious and known as the "flower of wealth and honor" or "king of all flowers," and chrysanthemums, which symbolize Japan and are a dignified and elegant imperial crest, all depicted with sometsuke (underglaze blue) technique.
Flowers are a motif that the artist has depicted in paintings for many years, and the delicate flowers dancing on the vessel express the emotion felt when seeing nature or something beautiful.
Each piece is created improvisationally, without prior sketches, born from intuition, offering the charm of lively hand-drawn expressions where no two pieces are exactly alike.
This vessel has a beautiful, elegant appearance with a slightly tall form.
The painting is applied to a supreme quality base, crafted by a highly skilled master potter with extensive experience in creating the foundation for many renowned Kutani artisans.

  • Do not use in microwave ovens or dishwashers.
  • As it is ceramic, there is no need for kal-dama (pre-use sealing). Please wash with household detergent before use.

【Please Understand】

  • Due to the handmade nature, sizes and shapes may vary slightly. Weights may differ by several tens of grams.
  • During firing, tiny black components called iron powder in the clay may appear on the surface. There may also be slight indentations in the glaze (pinholes) or glaze drips. These are considered characteristics that arise from using natural materials and carefully handcrafting each piece. Products with such occurrences within a frequently observed range are considered authentic. We appreciate your understanding.
